Jacob Luard Pattisson was a civil servant. He married Ellen Miller.


Pattisson was Private Secretary to the first Lord of Treasury at 3 Grosvenor Place, London, from 1887 to 1891. In November 1887 he was in correspondence with JW concerning the artist's gift of a specially bound volume containing the 'Naval Review set' which was to be presented to the Queen, and which was in his safe-keeping (#04538). He was invited by JW to the 1887-88 winter exhibition of the Royal Society of British Artists (#13403).
