Louisa Augusta was the daughter daughter of George Samuel Jenkinson, 11th Baronet, and Emily Sophie Lyster. She became Viscountess Maidstone and appears to have known JW about 1884. She remarried on 22 December 1917, her second husband being Lt Colonel Francis James Ashburner. She died at the age of 83 at Douglas, Cheltenham on 21 December 1932.

George William Heneage Finch-Hatton (1852-1879) was the eldest son of George James Finch-Hatton (1815-1887), 11th Earl of Winchelsea (succeeded in 1858). George was Viscount Maidstone until 1879. However, at the time 'Lady Maidstone' is mentioned in JW's correspondence, 1884, the title would have passed on.

Murray Edward Gordon Finch-Hatton was the son of George William Finch, 10th Earl of Winchilsea and Fanny Margaretta Rice; he became the 12th Earl. He was born on 28 March 1851. He married Edith Harcourt, daughter of Edward William Harcourt and Lady Susan Harriet Holroyd, on 27 October 1875. He died on 7 September 1898 at the age of 47.
