Reinhard Boelens, Baron van Lynden, was a distinguished collector.

Life:

Baron van Lynden was the purchaser of Arrangement in Yellow and Grey: Effie Deans (YMSM 183), which he bought through E. J. van Wisselingh. After seeing Arrangement in Grey and Black: Portrait of the Painter's Mother (YMSM 101), he considered commissioning JW to paint a portrait, but the idea came to nothing.
