Thomas Layland was an architect and surveyor from Liverpool.
He is probably the same man as Thomas Layland of Ulverston who married Hannah Kitching; a relation of this Thomas Layland, Edward Layland (b. 1850) married Isabella Dawson on 21 December 1855. Thus he was related by marriage to F. R. Leyland and his wife Frances (née Dawson).
Layland was a friend and possible relative of Frederick and Frances Leyland (#02609). He may also have been an artist (#02565, #08794). His home address was Stone-House, Wallasey Village, Wirrall. His office was located in Liverpool at 49 North John Street. He may have been the person referred to as Elinor Leyland's 'Uncle Tom' (#08051).
