Joseph Kaye was a barrister. His wife, Mary Kaye, was born in India.
Kaye was called to the Bar in 1854. He was Master of the Common Pleas Division from 1875 to 1879, at which date he became Master of the Supreme Court in Judicature of the Royal Courts of Justice. He was involved with the Tacchi v. Whistler case in December 1878. In 1881 he was living in Paddington.
