Thomas Anstey Guthrie was a writer, who published under the pseudonym F. Anstey. He remained unmarried.


Guthrie was a member of The Arts Club from 1898 to 1910. He was the author of Vice Versa (1882) and A Fallen Idol (1886). He was included in a preliminary guest list for a dinner to be held in the Criterion, Picadilly, organised by William Christian Symons, to congratulate JW on becoming an honorary member of the Royal Academy in Munich (#05635).
