George D. Curtis was a landscape painter.


Curtis exhibited between 1882 and 1898 at the Royal Academy and New English Art Club in London, where Whistler exhibited in June 1888, as well as at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, Manchester City Art Gallery and Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh.

Curtis was amongst those proposed invitees to a dinner organised by W. C. Symons to congratulate Whistler on being made an Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Munich, a dinner that was to be held at the Criterion in Piccadilly on 1 May 1889 (#00631).
