She was daughter of the author Mortimer Collins.


A theosophist, journalist and interviewer at the World, she was editor with H. P. Blavatsky of the Theosophical Review from 1887-January 1889.

She wrote several novels and other works including Lord Vanecourt's daughter. A novel, New York, 1886; The Blossom and the Fruit: a true story of a black magician, New York, 1889; Idylls of the White Lotus, with an epitome of theosophical teachings and esoteric theosophy by William Q. Judge, 1890; Suggestion, New York, 1892; Lights on the path. A treatise written for the personal use of those who are ignorant of the eastern wisdom, and who desire to enter within its influence, 1908.
