Howard Miall Cockerell was a merchant. In March 1875 he married Maria [or Mary] Humphrey at St James, Westminster. They had a daughter Elphida May (b. ca 1876).
The London address of Mr and Mrs Howard Cockerell in 1881 and 1882 was 11 Ovington Square, but by 1884 they appear to have moved to 1 Cromwell Gardens. They were among those invited to JW's studio and home in London in the late 1870s and 1880s [#11218, #11211]. In 1887 they were invited by JW to attend the private view of the 1887-8 winter exhbition of the Royal Society of British Artists, a society of which JW was President from 1886 to 1888 [#13403].
