l'Eté [sic] dernier, ayant été absent, j'ai trouvé votre carte[2] à mon retour.
Ayant lu que vous étiez ici, j'ai tâché de vous rendre votre visite cette après-midi.
Je désire beaucoup vous parler d'un projet de Société Internationale de Blanc et Noir[3], et si vous vouliez me faire l'honneur de venir déjeuner, Dimanche, à 12 1/2 h. - très simplement, en famille, - j'en serais bien heureux et nous pourrions causer de ce plan -
Permettez- [p. 2] moi de vous offrir un petit volume[4] où j'ai dit un mot de vous!
Demain je suis absent. Samedi à partir de midi. Et Dimanche même je ne suis pas certain d'être ici.
Mais si vous voulez m'écrire un mot, je vous dirai de suite si les choses s'arrangent, et, sinon, je vous serai bien reconnaissant de me donner un rendez-vous quelconque, afin de pouvoir causer un moment. Tomorrow I will be absent. On Saturday from noon onwards. And even on Sunday I am not certain of being here.
