Dear Mr Wunderlich -

By this mail - Mr Lauser[4] sends to you a collection of proofs of the new - Amsterdam etchings[5] as you desired - of which the following is the list -

The Bridge 3
 "  Balcony 3
 "  Steps 3
 "  Long House 3
 "  Square Houses 3
 "  Pierrot - 3
[p. 2] Zaandam - 2
Nocturne - Dance House - 2
The Embroidered Curtain 3-
Little Drawbridge 2

These are all that Mr Whistler can spare at this minute, some of them are on Japanese paper -

The proofs of the "Embroidered Curtain" are trial proofs - I thought you would like to have them, as they will be "curious" -

When the plate is completed we will send [p. 3] you a proof -

Mr Whistler was not satisfied with the plates he made (as you wished) of sea side subjects[6] - but he is engaged on some - of which - on their completion, he will forward you proofs that you may choose tho which you like for the two you wish agreed wished would like to publish [...]

The most recent sea side subject had been The Beach, Ostend (K.354), but that dates from 1887. JW did not complete an etching plate specifically for Wunderlich.
