BEEFSTEAK CLUB

PRIVATE[4] - for yourself and Gotch[5].

My dear Ingram -

Have you seen the Agenda? - Of course you and Gotch must be well to the fore on Tuesday next - and this proposal to return to the old method of election must never pass -

The Wyke Bayliss[6] man must be put down -

In short all that is delightful must be maintained, and all that is tiresome must be trodden underfoot -

Pray present my compliments to Mrs Gotch[7] and make any apologies for prolonging a most charming evening way beyond all known limits -

Always
