John Charles Bigham, 1st Viscount Bigham, was a barrister and politician.
He was invited to the Private View of the Royal Society of British Artists when Whistler was President in 1887.
Bigham was called to the bar in 1870 and presided over a highly successful practice on the English northern circuit. He later became a judge and served on numerous committees and Royal Commissions including the Commission for revision of martial law sentences in 1902.
